Our Story & Mission
Formed in 2014, the Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition (SAPC) is a local leader in the prevention field. SAPC works to prevent the use of tobacco, alcohol and other drug use and its negative consequences in our communities, as well as across the United States.
The coalition’s office is located in Lebanon, Ohio, and our work reaches all across Warren County. Through strategic communications and campaign efforts, we work to create better-informed communities through educational efforts, sharing resources, connecting partners, providing skill-building and offering training opportunities to our members.
SAPC promotes evidence-based strategies that are effective in reducing and preventing substance use/misuse to promote healthier lifestyles. Read our by-laws here. Our coalition membership involves representation from all the 12 sectors of community coalitions identified by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA):
The Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition is comprised of passionate and experienced community partners with decades of experience leading and supporting successful policy advocacy campaigns.
SAPC’s goal is to build healthy communities by increasing protective factors, reducing risk factors and sharing resources for youth and adults in Warren County. The priority of the coalition currently is to focus on youth substance use/misuse which has increasingly become a problem in recent years.
