Shelley Brown is the Director of the Coalition. Shelley has been doing direct prevention and intervention services in the county since 1992.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Georgetown College and is a Licensed Social Worker and Chemical Dependency Counselor III.
Shelley’s career began at the formerly known Community Mental Health Centers of Warren County before transitioning to the Warren County Juvenile Courts. Shelley was part of the initial creation and development of Truancy Education Groups in 2007 for families brought before the court on truancy charges.
Shelley’s position moved to Warren County Educational Service Center in 2003, while continuing her collaboration with the court. In January 2021, Shelley was promoted to Supervisor of Substance Abuse Services and Programming, creating a new program dedicated to addressing youth substance abuse with the most at-risk students in alternative school placement settings.
Ms. Brown has been part of the Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition of Warren County for many years, previously holding an elected position of Treasurer. She was also one of the foundling members of the county’s School Crisis Response Team. Shelley’s passions are creation and development of programming, collaboration of services with county partners, and training and empowering others to grow and serve using their talents for what they are called to do. She is also proactive on educating youth on the dangers of substance abuse and the importance of staying in school.
It is her life’s mission to help people of all ages live happy, healthy lives and reach their full potential. Shelley lives in Lebanon with her husband of 30 years and has three grown children.
